01 / CONTEXT

The starting point.

Illustrations for a children’s book about numbers and counting, commissioned by the Research Institute of Children’s Literature. The images were developed through layered, three-dimensional collage.

02 / APPROACH

From idea to image.

I cut and layered cardboard, added shading with pastel, photographed the compositions and adjusted the colour in Photoshop. The material and its shadows are part of the storytelling.

From an initial drawing to a photographed paper scene, the process makes the texture and depth of the handmade image visible. These illustrations were made by hand; they are not AI-generated.
